Have you ever been planning a trip to Disney, but the thought of your toddler missing their nap frightens you to your core? Hi - it’s me - a mom of two young kiddos that function on a strict sleep schedule - it’s me.
Disney days are magical, but they can also be long and overstimulating for toddlers (or everyone, honestly). While one of my biggest tips for visiting with toddlers is to take a mid-day break, I understand that this doesn’t work for every family.

When leaving the park isn’t an option, don't fear! There are plenty of quiet, shady, and air-conditioned spots across Walt Disney World where little ones can get in a solid stroller nap without having to go back to your resort.
Here’s a park-by-park guide to the best nap time spots, ask me how I know!
Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom is definitely the most exciting - yet overwhelming - park for my young kids. Luckily, it’s also full of calm spaces for a mid-day break, if your family isn’t up for heading back to the resort.
1. The Hub Grass (in front of Cinderella Castle)
This artificial turf area has become a go-to rest spot for my family. I’m fortunate enough to have a pretty decent stroller sleeper, so in the event that my kid decides to nap during a stroll, I will find a shady spot near the castle, park the stroller, and let her nap while I enjoy a coffee and snack.
2. Tomorrowland Terrace
This quick-service restaurant is typically not open during the day, but you can still find shaded seating with a view of the castle. This spot is usually quiet, cool, and near restrooms.
3. Baby Care Center (next to The Crystal Palace)
The Magic Kingdom Baby Care Center is quiet, air-conditioned, and equipped with rocking chairs, nursing rooms, and changing tables. It’s an ideal spot for little ones who need a true break from the crowds (and in the Air Conditioning). Be warned, you will need to park your stroller before entering the Baby Care Center.
4. Columbia Harbour House
If you have an early napper, you can grab an early lunch at Columbia Harbour House. This is a large restaurant with quieter corners upstairs and air conditioning, making it great for mealtime and nap overlap.
Honorable Mention: Walt Disney World Railroad
If your toddler falls asleep to rides, this may be a great option! For us, it was a little too noisy, and is currently running on a modified route, but could potentially work when its back to running the entire circle. If it doesn't work for a nap, it could at least serve as a chance to rest your feet.
EPCOT
Epcot’s wide open spaces make it a great park for stroller naps.
1. World Showcase Gardens
Many countries have shaded garden areas or tucked-away benches. Japan, the UK, and Canada are particularly calm. The UK gardens behind the pavilion are especially peaceful and rarely crowded.
2. Spaceship Earth Courtyard
There are shady benches near the base of Spaceship Earth and around the exit area. It’s a great spot for parents to relax and enjoy the breeze while kids nap.
3. Friendship Boats
If your little one loves motion, take a relaxing boat ride on Crescent Lake. It’s peaceful, shaded, and scenic.
Pro Tip: Epcot is stroller nap heaven - just find a shaded path near World Showcase Lagoon, grab a beverage (so many to choose from!), and enjoy the view while your little one catches a nap.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Hollywood Studios is energetic, but there are still a few calm corners perfect for napping kiddos.
1. Echo Lake Area
The shaded spots around Echo Lake (especially near the dinosaur, Gertie!) are quieter during the afternoon and great for stroller naps.
2. Star Wars Launch Bay Courtyard
Tucked in the back of Animation Courtyard, this area is shaded and often empty during the day. It’s a secret gem for peaceful stroller time.
3. Walt Disney Presents Theater
This walk-through attraction offers a cool, dark environment with benches and a continuous film at the end, making it a great, air-conditioned escape for 20–30 minutes.
4. Toy Story Land (Back Exit)
While the main area is busy, the walkway toward Galaxy’s Edge has some shaded spots where parents can sit while little ones rest.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom is full of lush shade and natural white noise, which is perfect for naps!
1. Maharajah Jungle Trek (Asia)
Peaceful paths with birds and tigers - you can stroll this shaded trail slowly while your toddler naps in the stroller. It's also worth checking out the area behind Mr. Kamal's. It's away from some of the heavier foot traffic and can be a nice place to slow down.
2. Rafiki’s Planet Watch Train
A quiet, 10-minute ride each way on the Wildlife Express Train gives everyone a chance to rest. Once there, the Conservation Station hosts a Bluey dance party, and you can also peer through observation windows while animals have medical visits.
3. Behind Flame Tree Barbecue
This is our go-to place for shaded seating, and it tends to be quieter than the main dining area. The seating area offers views of the water and Expedition Everest. It’s perfect for a stroller nap and a parent lunch break.
4. Discovery Island Trails
These hidden walking paths around the Tree of Life are peaceful and often much quieter than the main walkways. They're shaded, winding and generally feel removed from the hustle of the park, making it a great option if your toddler is already getting sleepy and you don't necessarily need to walk miles to get them down.
Pro Tip: Animal Kingdom mornings can be go-go-go, but the afternoons are perfect for slower exploration and stroller naps while parents take in the scenery.
Honorable mentions: The path between Africa and Pandora
This walk way includes shaded stretches, plenty of room to keep the stroller moving, and enough background noise to help lull a toddler to sleep without being in the middle of a crowd.
Nap Time Tips
Stick to your toddler’s usual nap window if possible, you would be surprised how much even 30 minutes helps!
Always bring a stroller fan, a clip-on sound machine, and if necessary, a light blanket. Don’t forget your stroller shade if you have one.
Use Lightning Lanes for later afternoon rides when your toddler is well-rested.
If your child won’t nap in the park, you can also plan to leave mid-day and return in the evening. If you are worried about how long the commute may take, opt for a Minnie Van and have your Lyft App ready to go for when you need it!
Disney days are long, and if your family is like mine, naps are non-negotiable, especially in a place that can be so overstimulating. With a little planning (and a good stroller spot), you can make nap time at Disney fit seamlessly into your plans.
