On-Site Magical Disney Stays: Disney's All-Star Resorts

Contributed by:

Paige Landrum

The All-Star Resorts at Walt Disney World are a set of three value resorts - All-Star Sports, All-Star Music, and All-Star Movies - located side by side on property. Each resort has its own distinct theme, but they share similar layouts, amenities, and the benefit of being an affordable way to stay right in the middle of the Disney magic. Guests can even explore all three resorts during their stay, thanks to their close proximity (and yes, there’s a fun scavenger hunt that ties them all together).

Whether you’re a family with young kids, a couple looking for a fun and affordable trip, or a larger group traveling together, the All-Star Resorts may be a good fit for you.

Resort Theming

Each All-Star Resort is uniquely themed, with larger-than-life icons that make for fun photo ops and a lot of extra Disney magic (similar to Pop Century and Art of Animation).

A dream come true for sports fans! Themed around baseball, basketball, football, surfing, and tennis, this resort's sporty decor makes you feel like you're right in the middle of the action.

From jazz to country to Broadway-style show tunes, every section is designed around a different musical genre, complete with huge instruments and bright colors around every turn.

Step into the worlds of beloved Disney films! Think giant dalmatians, a larger-than-life Buzz Lightyear, and plenty of magical nods to Disney classics. This one is a toddler favorite to walk through for photo ops.

Room Types

Across the All-Star Resorts, you’ll find comfortable accommodations perfect for families big and small.

Standard Room: Sleeps 2–4, with either 1 King Bed or 1 Queen Bed plus 1 Queen Table Bed.

Preferred Room: These rooms have the same setup as the standard rooms, but proximity wise are located closer to dining, transportation, and the lobby.

Family Suite: located only at All Star Movies, these family suites sleep up to 6 adults, with 1 Queen Bed and 2 Queen Pull-Down Beds. This is a fantastic option for larger families looking to stay on a budget but also need additional beds.

Resort Facts: Dining Options, Pools, Transportation

Dining

Each resort has its own quick-service food court and pool bar, making it easy to grab a bite without leaving the property.

  • All-Star Sports: End Zone Food Court offers fan favorites like burgers, pizza, pasta, and subs, plus sweet treats like Mickey-shaped brownies. The Grandstand Spirits pool bar is right by the Surfboard Bay Pool.

  • All-Star Music: Intermission Food Court serves classics plus unique finds like avocado breakfast bowls and foot-long chili-cheese hot dogs. The Singing Spirits Pool Bar offers smoothies and cocktails by the pool.

  • All-Star Movies: World Premiere Food Court serves burgers, pasta, and fried favorites along with specialties like Cuban fries and Citrus Basil Salmon. Silver Screen Spirits Pool Bar is a great stop for frozen drinks.

Pools

One of the best parts of the All-Star Resorts is the variety of pool options - you actually have access to all six pools across the three resorts, no matter which one you’re staying at. That gives families a chance to mix things up and find a favorite.

  • All-Star Sports:

    • Surfboard Bay Pool is the main pool, shaped like a giant surfboard and surrounded by colorful icons. This is perfect for kids who love a bright, lively setting.

    • Grand Slam Pool is a baseball-themed pool where Goofy pitches from the center mound.

  • All-Star Music:

    • Calypso Pool is the largest pool at this resort, featuring the Three Caballeros fountain in the center and surrounded by big maracas.

    • Piano Pool is shaped like a grand piano, complete with black and white keys stretching across the deck.

  • All-Star Movies:

    • Fantasia Pool is the centerpiece here, with Sorcerer Mickey spraying water in front of giant Fantasia-themed décor.

    • Duck Pond Pool is themed after the hockey scene from The Mighty Ducks, complete with a rink-style layout.

Each pool area also has plenty of seating and activities scheduled throughout the day, like trivia, dance parties, or games.

Transportation

All three All-Star Resorts offer complimentary bus transportation to all four theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs. Bus stops are located at the front of each resort. This can be considered a downside to All-Stars, versus the other Value resorts (Pop Century and Art of Animation), that have the added convenience of the Skyliner.

Resort Amenities

Even though the All-Star Resorts fall into the Value category, they still have a lot to offer families who are looking to travel to Disney on a budget. Some of the amenities you can find here include:

  • Playgrounds;

  • Movies Under the Stars;

  • Poolside activities & crafts (some with a small fee);

  • Arcades;

  • Jogging trail;

  • Evening campfires with marshmallow roasting; and

  • Free scavenger hunt activity through all three resorts. This is such a fun activity if you are staying for a few days or having a resort rest day!

This would be the ideal resort for you if…

You want to be surrounded by Disney magic without breaking the bank. From giant movie icons to oversized sports gear to musical instruments taller than the buildings, every corner is packed with fun details. With food courts offering plenty of kid-friendly options, multiple pools to explore, and the added perk of the scavenger hunt, the All-Star Resorts are a great fit for families who want a lively and affordable Disney stay. All-Star resorts are a great options for families who need to stay in budget - in fact you may be surprised to learn that they typically come in cheaper than all other non-Disney resorts in the area once you take into consideration that Disney does not charge a daily parking fee or resort fee like other hotels in the area do.
