5 Things You Need to Know About Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

Christmas songs? Check.

Holiday decor? Check.

Themed food and drink? Check.

Snoap? DOUBLE CHECK.

It is literally the most wonderful time of the year and there’s no better way to celebrate the season than a trip to Walt Disney World! I could just sit on Main Street all night watching the Once Upon a Christmas Parade, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, and watching the Snoap fall while I eat my Mickey ice cream bar. IT’S SO MAGICAL!

Ok, let’s get this out of the way, if you don’t know what Snoap is, it's good we're here to keep you in the know. It’s how Disney makes snow fall in Orlando, Florida. Snow + Soap = Snoap. It’s amazing and wonderful. Trust me.

Now that we have the important stuff covered, what exactly is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party? This party is a separately ticketed event that runs on select nights at Magic Kingdom from early November to just a few days before Christmas. When you purchase a party ticket, you get to enter Magic Kingdom at 4pm and the party lasts until midnight-1am.

Pro Tip: If you don’t have a party ticket, then Magic Kingdom will close at 6:00pm that day, so plan accordingly. Your AMAAB advisor can suggest itinerary changes if needed.

Here are 5 (and ½) things you need to know about this very festive party:

One: Lower Crowds = Less Wait Times

The parties have a cap on attendance (which yes, means that they will sell out!), so that means fewer crowds than your normal day at Disney World. For the ride-seeker in your life, this means you’re going to be able to cover more ground at a holiday party than you probably would on a normal day. Now, this doesn’t mean zero-waits, but it is generally lower than normal, especially as you approach the midnight mark. Those that can hang the latest get the best wait times.

Two: All the Characters

The holidays at Disney brings out some of the unique characters that you don’t always see on your average park visit. I’m talking Clarabelle Cow, Olaf and Kristoff, Fancy Nancy, and of course, the main man of the hour... Santa Claus! Plus they are all decked out in their holiday garb looking so cute!

Three: Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Parade

My favorite parade of all the parades. From the Toy Soldier dancers to the peppermint smell coming from Clarabelle’s float to Mickey and Minnie and ending with the man himself, Santa Claus, you will get to see it all from your parade spot. I have 2 favorite locations, the first is on Main Street USA. I like this location because I can sit on the curb (if you get there early enough to pick your spot) and I’m near the snoap machines! My second favorite is the right side of the castle, closer to the Plaza Restaurant. This is a great spot for pictures of the floats with Cinderella Castle in the background.

Four: Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show

The castle illuminates with festive designs and songs from your favorite Christmas carols. I love singing along and watching the show, it just makes me happy. It's also a different show than normal, which is fun to experience in person.

Five: Specially Themed Merchandise and Treats

Spirit Jersey lovers - this is your moment! Each year they come out with a new theme and spirit jersey (among other things, including ears!). Make sure you stop by the numerous Hot Chocolate and Cookie stations to get your complimentary snacks throughout the evening. You can also enjoy food items exclusive to the party for purchase from various spots around the park. This includes items like Hot Cocoa Churro, Gingerbread Milk Shake, Festive Beignets, and the Holiday Pot Roast Hot Dog.

Pro Tip: If you see party merch that you like, you should consider purchasing it at the beginning. We have seen specific items (like pins and ornaments) sell out if you decide to wait until the end of the night.

5 and a 1/2: Snoap Warning

While I have already shared my love for Snoap, be careful eating your Mickey Ice cream Sandwich at the same time that it’s snoaping. Let’s just say it doesn’t taste as good as it looks.

There you have it! Our crew would love to help you plan your Christmas trip to Disney World to include Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! These tickets will sell out, so we recommend getting this event booked through your AMAAB advisor as soon as possible!
