From cowboy trails to glacier walks to some of the most breathtaking scenery on Earth, the Canadian Rockies are nothing short of extraordinary. But after experiencing this trip firsthand, I can confidently say—this is one adventure you don’t want to plan on your own.
Check out my picture below. Don't I look so excited to be standing on a glacier??

A Seamless Start to an Unforgettable Journey
Last summer, my family and I headed north to Alberta, Canada, arriving a day early to settle in before our week-long adventure. From the moment we landed, everything felt effortless. A private driver greeted us and transported us to the first of three stunning Fairmont hotels.
At check-in, we were welcomed with a letter from our Adventure Guides—filled with thoughtful recommendations for exploring on our own before meeting the rest of our group that evening. It was the perfect balance of independence and guidance.
At our welcome dinner, I met a couple on their first Adventures by Disney trip. They shared that they had originally tried to plan this exact itinerary themselves—but quickly became overwhelmed by the logistics: driving routes, park access, reservations, and timing. When they discovered this guided itinerary, they realized it offered something they simply couldn’t replicate on their own.
By the end of the week, I completely understood why.
Here are five reasons why traveling with Adventures by Disney makes all the difference:
1. Truly Stress-Free Travel
This is what vacation should feel like. From start to finish, every detail was handled... transportation, meals, excursions, timing. All we had to do was show up each morning and enjoy the day ahead.
Our Adventure Guides were not only incredibly knowledgeable but also attentive, organized, and genuinely fun to be around. They kept everything running smoothly while making the experience feel personal and relaxed.
One standout moment? Visiting the iconic Moraine Lake. Access isn’t so easy, and most visitors must park far away to hike in or arrange transport from a shuttle in advance. But thanks to Adventures by Disney, we were dropped off right at the lake—no stress, no hassle, just pure enjoyment.
2. Views That Don’t Feel Real
Photos simply don’t do this place justice. We began in Alberta and made our way through the mountains, visiting picturesque towns like Canmore, Banff, and my personal favorite, Lake Louise.
Each day somehow topped the last.
On the way to Lake Louise, our guides surprised us with an unplanned stop. With little explanation beyond “trust us,” we followed them down a quiet trail that opened up to a brilliant blue glacial lake. It felt like stepping into a postcard—peaceful, vivid, and almost unreal. Even better, our guides made sure we had space to truly take it all in.
Moments like that are hard to find on your own, yet they seemed to happen every day on this trip.

3. Experiences for Every Traveler
This itinerary is as active—or as relaxed—as you want it to be. From hiking and biking to optional adventures like a polar plunge in a glacial lake, there was something for everyone. And if you preferred a slower pace, modified options made it easy to still be part of the experience.
What stood out most was how inclusive it felt. Our group ranged from age 5 to 75, and every single person was able to participate in a way that suited them. There were even dedicated activities for Junior Adventurers, giving kids their own special moments while adults enjoyed some downtime.
It’s truly designed for multi-generational travel at its best.

4. Iconic, Storybook-Worthy Stays
Let’s talk about the hotels because they are an experience all on their own. Disney only books the best!
Our journey included stays at three incredible Fairmont properties:
Fairmont Palliser – A historic gem in the heart of the city, full of elegance and charm
Fairmont Banff Springs – A real-life castle nestled in the mountains (yes, it’s as magical as it sounds)
Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise – A stunning lakeside retreat that completely stole my heart
I’ll never forget arriving at Banff Springs. Our guides asked us to close our eyes as we approached. When we opened them, there it was—a massive castle rising out of the mountains. It was a true “wow” moment.
And Lake Louise? Absolutely unforgettable. The views, the atmosphere, the experience—it’s easily one of the most incredible places I’ve ever stayed.
(Fun fact: even Queen Elizabeth II and other notable figures have stayed at these iconic properties.)
5. Those Signature Disney Touches
What truly sets this trip apart are the little surprises along the way. Think thoughtful snacks, collectible pins, and magical moments you didn’t see coming. The Adventure Guides consistently went above and beyond, checking in and adding personal touches that made the experience feel special.

One of my favorite memories? Our farewell dinner.
As we gathered for one last evening together, we were surprised by a visit from a real Canadian Mountie—fully dressed and ready to share stories about the history and traditions of the force. It was such a unique and memorable way to end the trip.
So, Is It Worth It?
By the end of the week, I found myself sitting next to that same couple from our first night. I asked them the question again—was it worth it?
Their answer was immediate: absolutely yes!
And honestly, I couldn’t agree more.
This isn’t just a vacation. Adventures by Disney is an experience. One where every detail is handled, every moment feels elevated, and every day brings something unforgettable and magical.
Sure, you can plan a trip to the Canadian Rockies on your own. But after doing it this way, I can’t imagine wanting to take it on when this is an option!
