Five Reasons Disneyland Is A Must

Contributed by Kayla Read

From the smell of popcorn on Main Street to the first glimpse of the Sleeping Beauty Castle, Disneyland has a way of making everyone feel like a kid again. If you’re looking for a destination packed with unforgettable rides, iconic characters, and nonstop joy... Disneyland delivers magic at every turn.

So, what makes Disneyland so special year after year? There are countless reasons people fall in love with Disneyland, but a few stand out above the rest. Let’s talk about my top 5 reasons for visiting Disneyland.

NUMBER 1: THE BIRTHPLACE OF MAGIC

As Disney Parks fans Disneyland holds such a special place in my heart. After all, this is where Walt Disney’s original vision first came to life. Walking through the park feels like stepping into history from Main Street, U.S.A. to classic attractions that have enchanted guests for generations. Unlike any other Disney park, Disneyland carries a sense of authenticity and nostalgia, reminding visitors that this is where the magic began and where Disney’s legacy continues to evolve. Walk in Walt’s footsteps, see his apartment and remember why Walt made Disney to begin with. Walt Disney created the Disney company and its theme parks out of a desire to entertain families, bring his stories to life, and provide a unique, immersive experience where parents and children could enjoy magic together.

NUMBER 2: INCREDIBLE VARIETY OF LANDS AND ATTRACTIONS

One of Disneyland’s greatest strengths is how much it offers within a relatively compact space. Each land feels completely unique, transporting you from futuristic worlds to wild frontiers and fairy-tale settings in just a few steps. With a wild mix of classic attractions, thrilling rides, and immersive experiences, Disneyland makes it easy for every type of visitor to find something they love, no matter their age. Several lands found at Disneyland Resort are completely unique, including New Orleans Square, Cars Land, Avengers Campus, and Pixar Pier. Experiencing the same Disney magic in new and unexpected ways makes it less about Walt Disney World versus Disneyland and more about Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Each resort offers its own take on that magic, giving fans even more reason to experience both.

NUMBER 3: FAMILIAR FAVORITES WITH UNIQUE TWISTS

To a Walt Disney World fan, many of Disneyland’s attractions feel comfortingly familiar, yet they offer small details and variations that make the experience feel fresh. Classic rides often feature different layouts, added scenes, or unique storytelling elements that set them apart from their Disney World counterparts. These subtle twists create a sense of discovery, allowing longtime Disney fans to enjoy beloved favorites while still experiencing something new and exclusive to Disneyland. For a full rundown of attractions that are the same yet different at Disneyland, stay tuned for a future blog post where I’ll explore those unique ride variations and details.

NUMBER 4: FOOD THAT IS WORTH THE TRIP ALONE

Disneyland’s food offerings are impressive enough to visit on their own. From iconic snacks to thoughtfully crafted meals, the resort delivers dining experiences that go far beyond standard theme park food. With a mix of unique restaurants, seasonal specialties and items you can’t find anywhere else, food becomes an essential part of the Disneyland experience rather than just a break between attractions. Some of my favorite things to eat at Disneyland include birria tacos, churros (they’re so much better than Walt Disney World’s), the best corn dogs you’ll ever have, and pickles… Yes, pickles. They’re made fresh, and that crunch is worth every single bite.

NUMBER 5: TWO ICONIC PARKS JUST STEPS APART

One of the most underrated perks of Disneyland is having two iconic parks just steps apart. Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure are so close that park hopping feels effortless, letting you move between classic nostalgia and modern thrills without losing time or energy.  That proximity is especially perfect for my sensory‑friendly clients, since shorter walks, fewer transitions, and easy exits help keep the day calm and manageable. It creates a laid‑back, walkable vibe that is uniquely Disneyland.

At the end of the day, Disneyland just has a kind of magic that feels easy and approachable. Between the incredible food, the walkable layout, and thoughtful details that make the experience smoother for all kinds of travelers, it’s a place that truly meets people where they are. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or the hundredth, Disneyland has a way of making every trip feel special, familiar, and worth coming back to.
