With over 40+ worldwide itineraries to choose from, you will get an exclusive vacation experience that you’ll never forget!
Trust me, I’ve been on a few but can’t wait to do more in the future! Here is a synopsis of the magic I have experienced so far.
First up?! Rome, Italy
My first Adventure by Disney was a short escape to Rome, Italy. When we arrived, we were greeted by our private driver who took us directly to the beautiful five-star Marriott Grand Hotel Flora. We had a welcome dinner, where we met our guides and other fellow adventurers.
Day two was named “All Roads Lead to Rome” because we started our day with, you guessed it, a tour of Rome. We visited many famous landmarks such as the Spanish Steps and the Pantheon. Of course our visit wasn’t complete until we got to throw our coins in the Trevi fountain. The afternoon included a pizza lunch and a stop at the Colosseum where we learned about many gladiators’ fate as we stood on the stage. Our amazing guides also made sure we got gelato- a must when visiting Italy!
Day three was themed “Being Civilized” at the Vatican. This was a highlight for sure. We started our morning touring St. Peter’s Basilica, then we went to a private mosaic class where we got to make our own mosaic souvenirs. In the evening, we explored the Vatican museum after hours... an experience I will truly never forget. Imagine having the Sistine Chapel to yourself as you take in all of the details of the paintings. I even got to lay on the floor to marvel at the famous ceiling. Our evening ended with a private dinner in the Pope’s garden. It was absolutely an unforgettable day and a prime example of the Disney difference.
Next Up? Southern California
I had such an incredible time in Rome that I came home and immediately booked another ABD adventure. This time I chose to do the Southern California short escape. I’m a big Disney fan and am intrigued by the history of Disney. This escape was a perfect opportunity to walk in Walt’s footsteps and go beyond the parks to places that are normally closed to the public. First of all, you get to stay in the beautiful Grand Californian Hotel. That was a treat! At our welcome dinner, we were given the surprise of going to the oh-so-popular Oogie Boogie Bash. This sold-out event was not listed on the original itinerary, but because it was a party night and because we were with Adventures by Disney, we got to go. It was such a great way to kick-off our adventure.
Day two consisted of a visit to the Walt Disney Studios, lunch in the Commissary, and then a trip over to Walt Disney Imagineering. I loved learning more about Disney history and seeing so many amazing artifacts in the Archives. We were not allowed to take any pictures–especially inside Imagineering because they had future projects displayed, but we got to learn about what is in the works for Disney and some of the incredible technology they are using. That place oozes creativity everywhere. Oh to be a fly on the wall!
Day three was all about the parks. We got to go on a behind the scenes tour of both Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure. Did you know there’s a whole car garage behind the mountain of Radiator Springs Racers? We got to talk with one of the mechanics who explained how the ride works. It’s pretty neat to see how they switch out the cars.
A favorite moment for me was back at Disneyland when we were in Walt’s apartment on Main Street and the cast member was telling us stories about Walt and his family. Standing right there next to the window and seeing all of the guests walk by is something I will never forget. It is such a special place still filled with so many of the family’s things. There were a few other surprises on this adventure, but I don’t want to give everything away in case you want to try this one for yourself.
Last Up? Paris, France
Booking another ABD adventure was high on my list again, and this past summer, I got to go on the ABD Paris escape. We stayed in the heart of the city at the beautiful Hilton Paris Opera. Our first day started with a bang. We took a river cruise down the Seine and stopped at the Eiffel Tower where we had dinner at the Madame Brasserie restaurant located on the first floor of the tower. That was an amazing meal with an even more amazing view. Plus, we were there right before the Olympics began so we got to see all of the preparations and giant rings on the Eiffel Tower. Very cool!
Day two was all about the delicious food Paris has to offer. We did a private walking tour around the famous Saint-Germain neighborhood where we got to try delectable chocolates, macarons, and some savory treats as well. Afterwards, we walked over to the Louvre where we met up with an art expert who navigated us through the many rooms explaining the history behind so many of the masterpieces housed there. This was my second visit to the Louvre and there’s still so much I haven’t seen. That museum is quite a place!
Each adventure is unique and provides opportunities that you wouldn’t get to do if you were planning your own vacation or joining another tour group. What also makes Adventures by Disney stand out is having the two adventure guides that are with you every step of your journey, who enlist the help of locals to ensure you are receiving and authentic experience. The insider access feels very VIP and it is something that Disney does so well. Your whole family will get to be culturally immersed in the destination. Plus... meeting new friends is also a bonus! It's easy to grow close to others during these trips.
All of my personal adventures were short escapes that were only a couple of days long, but Adventures by Disney offers longer trips as well. You can go to Africa, Asia Pacific, Central and South America, Europe, North America, and even a private jet adventure to the Disney Parks around the world! What an amazing once in a lifetime vacation that would be!
Did you know that Disney also partners with AmaWaterways to offer River Cruising as well? These award-winning, luxury cruises are perfect for families to experience the quaint countries along Europe’s most famous rivers. My next dream vacation would be to do an ABD escape connected to an ABD river cruise. That way you can get the best of both land and water adventures.
As you can see, I think Adventures by Disney is an amazing vacation experience that you will never forget. A Mouse and a Beach Travel Advisors would love to help you find your next perfect adventure.
